Hotter Than Blazes

Is it summer already? The heat today has made me use the a/c way too early. I'd rather have the windows open with a fresh breeze blowing through the house. Not a chance of that happening today. Not a single breeze to be had in this humidity. Except for when my car windows are open and I go over 25 mph.

Speaking of my car, I got myself an adorable little punch buggy this month. About two weeks ago to be exact. So imagine what was going thru my head when I exited the Shop Rite to see this behind my car. I mean, really? Is your Corvette that cool that you have to usurp some of my little buggy's parking spot? Sheesh.

The driver parked epsilon close to my baby!!! All I could think of was the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. If my car wasn't such a youngster, I would totally have Towanda's that 'vette.

This incident made me realize that it is truly the beginning of Benny season down at the Jersey Shore. If you don't know what a Benny is, then chances are you may be one. "Benny" comes from the word "benefactor" and refers to non-locals who come to the New Jersey shore to spend their money.

Routine vs. Spontaneity

I have another day at home, not called in to work. Do I spend it doing the things I would like to do? No, of course not. I spent the last six hours doing housework and other little chores. How is it that it does not pile up, but rather, household chores are always sort of humming around under the surface. You can clean all you want today, but come next week, it will need to be done again. I tell myself that it is good to have a clean house - good for the health of the people who live here. But yet, is it good for my health to not make time to do the things that I enjoy? Does my life really have to revolve between work and housework and taking care of others needs? How do I keep myself from getting lost in it all? It doesn't feel like my spirit is evolving and growing when I clean the shower tiles. My dream would be to not have a schedule in my life at all - to be able to do whatever I like, whenever I feel like doing it, without it harming or hurting anyone. One day...

I love my shirt

I have a favorite shirt. It is over fifteen years old now. Plaid, collarless flannel in blues and whites. From a store that has since closed its doors forever. A men's shirt. So soft and so very comfortable. Probably one of the only patterned shirts I own. I don't wear it as often as I'd like because I prefer it ironed first and am really too lazy to iron often. But I'm wearing it today on this cold, grey day and it makes me feel happy. I ironed it fresh this morning and hummed Donovan's "I Love My Shirt" while doing so.

Something in the Air

Can you tell I've been busy the last three months? No updates here!

And what is up with the Twitter gadget? Those are not my comments.

So it's a new year and new things are a-brewing. I'm going to ride the energy current and see where the Universe is taking me. If I land somewhere fruitful, I will share the news. I hope you all have a wonderful, brand-spanking new year!
